    The youth and adolescent overhead athlete can often times be complicated due to the vast array of age-specific injuries and the rehabilitative care needed to return to sport. This course will give the rehabilitative specialist specific understanding concerning what age-related injuries occur in the younger baseball athlete. More specifically, the attendee will be able to identify these particular injuries and their associated risk factors, objective measures that are specific to the baseball athlete, sport-specific rehab, injury prevention standards, and guidelines for return to sport in a safe and progressive manner.

  2. Physical Therapy and Vestibular Rehabilitation for the Concussed Athlete
    An evidenced based approach of how physical therapist incorporate examination and treatment of the neck, including vestibular rehabilitation for the concussed athlete. An overview of the musculoskeletal and neuro anatomy of the cervical spine, and the brain will be discussed, and how to use manual therapy, exercise, and vestibular rehabilitation interventions for the treatment of the concussed athlete will be presented. Return to play principles will also be utilized and how the physical therapist collaborates with other medical professionals involved in the care of the concussed patient will also be described.

  3. Evaluating and Treating the Injured Golfer: An Evidence-Based Perspective
    This session will give clinicians the tools and strategies required to effectively evaluate and treat an injured golfer in the physical therapy setting. Golf-specific postural analysis and objective assessment focusing on regional interdependence will be discussed. Assessment of swing faults and potential physical causes as well as evidence-based treatment and swing modifications will be discussed as well. Upon conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to immediately incorporate this knowledge and newly-acquired skill set into his or her practice.
